SINT

MAARTEN

A narrow bridge of land about a kilometer long separates the ocean from the lagoon.

The road through it is lined with casinos, restaurants, bars and discotheques. Simpson Bay

comes alive at night. Noise, music and laughter ring out in a festive atmosphere that is highly

contagious. After dark, you will see people strolling alone, in twos or in groups of friends,

enjoying the bustling evening scene. As for restaurants, every taste can be served!

The Taste Factory, Top Carrot and Fusion, to mention just a few, are some of the favorites, enjoyed

by both visitors and local islanders. The strip is also home to small residential hotels and other

establishments on a decidedly human scale. It includes an attraction that appeals to residents and

tourists alike, the seven-screen Cineplex showing the latest films, mostly American blockbusters.

Simpson Bay is also the center of leisure boating. The famous “Sint Maarten Yacht Club”, organizer

of the iconic Heineken Regatta, has its headquarters here. The lagoon is ringed by numerous marinas.

Many of them attract an armada of dazzling yachts as they offer high-end shopping opportunities

as well as marine services, yacht rentals and diving equipment. If you are a fan of diving and

underwater exploration or if you seek the thrill of getting up close with dolphins and sharks,

just head for Aqua Mania Adventures at Pelican Key. Adventure guaranteed! Another feature

of Simpson Bay is the abundance of car rental options. Avis, Dollar and Thrifty Car Rentals,

among a host of others, can provide your choice of wheels for your island exploration…

Just like Maho, but at the other

end of the airport runway,

the neighborhood of Simpson Bay

is a very lively place, another

of Sint Maarten’s party centers.
