There is a place on Front Street that you would never guess existed if you weren’t invited
to it. If you look very carefully you will see, behind a small gate opening directly off the
street, a narrow corridor leading to a green oasis. This little patch of nature hidden in
the heart of town is the Art in The Garden Gallery. A cultural high spot in Philipsburg, it
is the improbable combination of an urban garden and an art gallery. Protected from the
elements and the hum of the busy street, it is a space for exhibitions and meetings as well
as a friendly place to relax in the shade, dotted with tables and chairs so that visitors can
enjoy a refreshing drink while admiring some extraordinary paintings.
